air fryer buffalo chicken dip - featured image

This quick buffalo chicken dip in the air fryer is ready in just 20 minutes, featuring a creamy, spicy, tangy mix of shredded chicken and melted cheese with a golden, bubbly crust. Perfect for game day, potlucks, or any gathering, it’s a crowd-pleaser that’s faster and easier than slow-cooker versions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups cooked, shredded chicken (rotisserie chicken works perfectly)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • ½ cup buffalo wing sauce (preferably Frank’s RedHot)
  • ½ cup ranch dressing (or blue cheese dressing)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, divided
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup crumbled blue cheese (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onions
  • Pinch of smoked paprika

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C). This takes about 3 minutes.
  2. Soften the cream cheese. If forgotten, microwave for 15-20 seconds until soft but not melted.
  3. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded chicken, buffalo wing sauce, ranch dressing, and half of the cheddar cheese (½ cup). Stir until well combined.
  4. Spoon the mixture into an oven-safe dish that fits your air fryer and spread evenly with a spatula.
  5. Sprinkle the remaining ½ cup cheddar cheese and the ½ cup mozzarella cheese evenly over the top. Add blue cheese crumbles if using.
  6. Place the dish in the preheated air fryer basket. Cook at 350°F for 8-10 minutes. Check at 6 minutes for bubbly edges and golden top; add 2 more minutes if needed.
  7. Carefully remove the dish from the air fryer. Let rest for 2-3 minutes. Sprinkle with chopped green onions and a pinch of smoked paprika.
  8. Serve immediately with chips, crackers, or veggie sticks.

Notes

For extra crispy edges, switch to ‘air fry’ setting for the last 2 minutes. Don’t overcook; start checking at 8 minutes. Room temperature cream cheese is essential for smooth texture. Shred your own cheese for best melt. Let rest 2-3 minutes before serving. Can be prepared ahead up to step 4 and refrigerated for 24 hours.
