A lighter, tangy twist on classic caramel apple dip made with Greek yogurt and reduced-fat cream cheese. Ready in under 10 minutes, it’s the perfect easy fall dessert for gatherings or a cozy night in.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz reduced-fat cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt (full-fat or 2%)
  • 1/3 cup caramel sauce, plus more for drizzling
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (pure)
  • 1/4 teaspoon flaky sea salt, plus more for finishing
  • 45 medium apples, sliced (Honeycrisp, Fuji, or Granny Smith)
  • Optional garnish: chopped pecans, extra caramel drizzle, additional flaky salt

Instructions

  1. Soften the cream cheese: Take the cream cheese out of the fridge about 30 minutes before starting. If forgotten, microwave in 10-second bursts until soft but not melted.
  2. Whip the cream cheese: Place softened cream cheese in a medium mixing bowl. Using an electric hand mixer on medium speed, beat for about 2 minutes until smooth and fluffy. Scrape down sides halfway through.
  3. Add the Greek yogurt: Add 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt. Beat on low speed until just combined, then increase to medium and mix for another minute until creamy and uniform.
  4. Incorporate the caramel and flavorings: Add 1/3 cup caramel sauce, 1 tablespoon maple syrup (if using), and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract. Beat on low speed until combined, then scrape down sides. Do not overmix.
  5. Add the salt: Sprinkle in 1/4 teaspoon flaky sea salt and fold gently with a spatula. Taste and adjust salt or sweetness as desired.
  6. Chill (optional but recommended): Transfer dip to a serving bowl, cover, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to meld flavors and firm up.
  7. Prepare the apples: Just before serving, slice apples into 1/2-inch wedges. If prepping ahead, toss slices in cold water with lemon juice to prevent browning. Drain and pat dry.
  8. Finish and serve: Drizzle extra caramel sauce over the dip, sprinkle with flaky sea salt, and add chopped pecans if desired. Arrange apple slices around the bowl and serve immediately.

Notes

For best texture, use room temperature ingredients. Greek yogurt can separate if overmixed. Dip can be made a day ahead and stored in the refrigerator. Not recommended for freezing.
