These easy no-bake chocolate peanut butter protein balls are a quick, healthy snack perfect for on-the-go energy boosts. They combine simple pantry staples into a delicious, chewy treat without baking.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (90g) rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup (128g) natural peanut butter, creamy and unsweetened
  • 1/2 cup (50g) chocolate protein powder (e.g., Orgain or Garden of Life)
  • 1/4 cup (85g) honey or maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons (15g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons (14g) flaxseed meal or chia seeds (optional)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup (90g) rolled oats, 1/2 cup (50g) chocolate protein powder, 2 tablespoons (15g) unsweetened cocoa powder, and a pinch of salt. Stir until evenly distributed (about 2 minutes).
  2. Add 1/2 cup (128g) natural peanut butter, 1/4 cup (85g) honey or maple syrup, and 1 teaspoon (5ml) vanilla extract to the dry mix. Stir gently but thoroughly until the mixture starts to clump together. If too dry, add a teaspoon of water or almond milk at a time until sticky but manageable.
  3. If using, stir in 2 tablespoons (14g) flaxseed meal or chia seeds for extra texture and nutrition (about 1 minute).
  4. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions (about 15g each) and roll between palms to form compact balls. You should get about 15-18 balls. If mixture sticks, lightly wet hands or dust with oats.
  5. Place balls on a baking sheet or plate lined with parchment paper and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
  6. Transfer set balls to an airtight container. Store in the fridge for up to one week or freeze for longer storage.

Notes

Use room temperature peanut butter and honey for easier mixing. Adjust moisture by adding water or almond milk if mixture is too dry. Chill balls to firm up texture. Optional add-ins include mini dark chocolate chips, shredded coconut, or frozen berries finely chopped. For nut allergies, substitute peanut butter with sunflower seed butter or tahini.
