These Easy Mummy Hot Dogs with Spicy Mustard Dip are a fun, kid-friendly Halloween dinner that comes together in under 30 minutes. Crescent roll dough wraps around hot dogs to create adorable mummies, served with a tangy, spicy mustard dip that everyone loves.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough (sheet-style preferred)
  • 8 hot dogs (beef, turkey, or chicken)
  • Mustard for eyes (yellow mustard, ketchup, or sriracha)
  • 1/2 cup whole-grain mustard
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the crescent dough onto a cutting board. If using perforated dough, press the seams together gently to form a solid rectangle.
  3. Cut the dough lengthwise into thin strips about 1/4 inch wide (about 12-14 strips per can).
  4. Wrap each hot dog with 3-4 dough strips at a slight angle, leaving small gaps so the hot dog shows through like a mummy.
  5. Place the wrapped hot dogs on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about an inch of space between each.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes until the dough is golden brown and flaky.
  7. Let cool for 2 minutes before adding eyes.
  8. Using a toothpick or knife tip, dab small dots of mustard onto each mummy for eyes.
  9. While the mummies bake, make the dip: In a small bowl, whisk together whole-grain mustard, Dijon mustard, honey, mayonnaise, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, and salt until smooth.
  10. Serve immediately with the spicy mustard dip.

Notes

For best results, use sheet-style crescent roll dough to avoid pressing seams. Leave gaps between dough strips for an authentic mummy look. The spicy mustard dip can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to a week. For a gluten-free option, use gluten-free crescent roll dough or puff pastry.
