These easy mummy-wrapped hot dogs are the perfect Halloween party treat. Made with just hot dogs, crescent roll dough, and mustard for eyes, they come together in under 30 minutes and are a hit with kids and adults alike.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (8 count) hot dogs
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • Mustard for eyes
  • Optional: Cooking spray or melted butter
  • Optional: Everything bagel seasoning or sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it along the perforated lines into 8 triangles.
  3. Cut each triangle lengthwise into thin strips, about 4-5 strips per triangle.
  4. Take one hot dog and start wrapping a strip of dough around it, leaving a small gap near the top for the face (about an inch of exposed hot dog). Wrap slightly overlapping, not too tight.
  5. Repeat for all hot dogs. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about an inch of space between each.
  6. Optional: Brush the dough with melted butter or spray with cooking spray.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and cooked through.
  8. Let them cool for 2-3 minutes on the baking sheet.
  9. Add the mustard eyes using a toothpick or the tip of a knife, dabbing two small dots on the exposed hot dog area.
  10. Serve warm.

Notes

Don’t overwork the dough; handle it quickly and wrap loosely. Leave about an inch of hot dog exposed for the face. Check baking time at 12 minutes as ovens vary. Let them rest 2-3 minutes before serving. Make extras as they disappear fast. Can be assembled up to 4 hours ahead and refrigerated before baking.
