A quick and easy crunchy ranch seasoned pretzel mix perfect for parties and snacking, featuring a homemade ranch seasoning blend and a variety of pretzel shapes for texture.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups mixed pretzels (sticks, twists, and nuggets)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (can substitute olive oil)
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill weed
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried chives (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup roasted salted nuts (almonds, peanuts, or cashews) – optional

Instructions

  1. Prepare the ranch seasoning blend: In a small bowl, combine dried parsley, dill weed, garlic powder, onion powder, chives (if using), smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to mix evenly.
  2. Pour 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil into a large mixing bowl. Add the 4 cups of mixed pretzels and toss gently but thoroughly so all pretzels get lightly coated.
  3. Sprinkle the ranch seasoning blend over the oiled pretzels. Add grated Parmesan cheese. Use a spatula or wooden spoon to gently fold and toss the mixture, ensuring every piece is coated evenly.
  4. Optional toasting: Spread the seasoned mix evenly on a baking sheet and toast in a preheated oven at 300°F (150°C) for 10 minutes. Stir halfway through to prevent burning and ensure even crisping. Remove and cool completely before serving.
  5. Once cooled, toss in 1/2 cup of roasted salted nuts if desired.
  6. Transfer the mix to an airtight container or bowl. Best enjoyed the same day but can be stored up to one week at room temperature.

Notes

Use a gentle folding motion to avoid crushing pretzels. Toasting is optional but adds warmth and crunch. Adjust salt to taste. For gluten-free, substitute pretzels with gluten-free pretzels or crunchy rice crackers. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week. Reheat by toasting for 5 minutes at 300°F to refresh crunch.
