These adorable mummy pigs in a blanket are wrapped in flaky crescent dough and served with a tangy-sweet honey mustard dip. Perfect for Halloween parties or cozy fall nights, they come together in under 30 minutes and are a guaranteed crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 16 little smoked sausages (like Lit’l Smokies or cocktail wieners)
  • 1 large egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 16 candy eyeballs (optional)
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 3 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the crescent dough on a clean cutting board. Press the seams together to form a solid sheet. Cut the dough lengthwise into 8 thin strips, then cut each strip in half widthwise to get 16 strips total.
  3. Wrap each sausage with a dough strip at a slight angle, leaving a small gap in the middle for the ‘eyes.’ Place seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Brush each mummy with the beaten egg wash.
  5. Bake for 12-15 minutes, until golden brown and puffed.
  6. While still warm, press a candy eyeball into the exposed gap on each mummy.
  7. In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, yellow mustard, honey, apple cider vinegar, and smoked paprika. Serve alongside the mummies.

Notes

For best results, serve warm. Assemble up to 4 hours ahead and refrigerate; add 2-3 minutes to baking time if cold. For a spicier version, add cayenne to the dip or use spicy sausages. For gluten-free, use gluten-free crescent dough. For vegan, use plant-based sausages and vegan puff pastry, and substitute egg wash with plant-based milk mixed with maple syrup.
