A tender, juicy ham slow-cooked with a sweet and tangy Coca Cola glaze that caramelizes beautifully, perfect for holiday meals and easy entertaining.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 to 6-pound fully cooked bone-in ham (spiral cut works well)
  • 12 ounces (355 ml) Coca Cola
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 cup pineapple juice (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Remove your fully cooked ham from packaging and pat dry with paper towels. Place the ham flat side down in your slow cooker.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine brown sugar, Coca Cola, Dijon mustard, honey, apple cider vinegar, pineapple juice, ground cloves, garlic powder, and freshly ground black pepper. Whisk until smooth and syrupy.
  3. Spoon about half of the glaze evenly over the ham, covering the top and sides. Reserve the rest for basting.
  4. Cover the slow cooker and cook on LOW for 6 to 8 hours or HIGH for 3 to 4 hours.
  5. Every 2 hours, baste the ham with the reserved glaze to build a sticky, caramelized finish.
  6. Optional: For an extra glossy crust, transfer the ham to a baking sheet, brush with remaining glaze, and broil for 3-5 minutes until bubbly and caramelized. Watch closely to avoid burning.
  7. Let the ham rest for 10 minutes before carving to allow juices to redistribute.

Notes

Basting every 2 hours is essential for a sticky, caramelized glaze. Use bone-in ham for juicier results. If slow cooker runs hot, check after 6 hours to avoid drying. For a thicker glaze, reserve some for broiling at the end. Leftovers taste better the next day. Store leftovers in airtight container up to 4 days refrigerated or freeze up to 3 months.
