  • Nutella or chocolate hazelnut spread
  • Maple syrup or honey
  • Mini marshmallows
  • 1/4 cup toasted coconut flakes (optional)

  • Sprinkles or edible glitter
  • Crispy bacon pieces (optional)
  • Mini sausage links (optional)
  • Cream cheese or herbed goat cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, beat eggs with milk, melted butter or oil, and vanilla extract.
  3. Pour wet ingredients into dry and stir until just combined (do not overmix).
  4. Preheat mini waffle maker and spray lightly with non-stick spray if needed.
  5. Scoop about 2 tablespoons batter onto the iron for each mini waffle. Cook for 2-3 minutes, or until golden and crisp. Repeat with remaining batter (makes 8-10 mini waffles).
  6. If using frozen waffles, toast according to package directions until hot and crisp.
  7. Wash and slice strawberries, rinse raspberries, and slice bananas just before assembling.
  8. Toast coconut flakes and chop nuts if using.
  9. Arrange toppings in small bowls or directly on the board.
  10. Lay parchment paper on your serving board if desired. Arrange mini waffles in the center, then fill in with bowls of syrup, Nutella, whipped cream, and berries.
  11. Scatter chocolate chips, marshmallows, and sprinkles around. Add savory items to one corner if using.
  12. Dust everything with powdered sugar and add edible glitter or heart-shaped picks if desired.
  13. Serve immediately while waffles are warm and crisp. Set out tongs, forks, and napkins.
