A quick and easy cheese ball combining smoky bacon, tangy ranch seasoning, and creamy cheeses, perfect for gatherings and last-minute snacks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup (100 g) sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 2 tablespoons ranch seasoning mix
  • 6 slices bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled
  • 2 tablespoons green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped (optional)
  • ½ cup (50 g) chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the bacon: Fry 6 slices over medium heat until crisp, about 6-8 minutes. Drain on paper towels and crumble once cool.
  2. Soften cream cheese: Let 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes to soften.
  3. Mix cheeses and seasonings: In a medium bowl, combine softened cream cheese, 1 cup (100 g) shredded sharp cheddar, 2 tablespoons ranch seasoning, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, and 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce.
  4. Blend everything: Use an electric mixer on medium speed or mix vigorously with a spoon until the mixture is creamy but still has a little texture, about 2-3 minutes.
  5. Add bacon and green onions: Fold in crumbled bacon and 2 tablespoons thinly sliced green onions gently with a spatula for even distribution.
  6. Shape the cheese ball: Lay a large piece of plastic wrap on your counter, transfer the mixture onto the wrap, and shape into a tight ball. Wrap it up securely and chill in the fridge for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  7. Prepare coating (optional): If using chopped nuts or fresh parsley, spread them on a plate. Unwrap the chilled cheese ball and roll it gently in nuts and/or parsley.
  8. Serve: Place the cheese ball on your serving platter, surround with crackers, sliced veggies, or your favorite dippers. Let it sit out for 10 minutes before serving for best spreadability.

Notes

Do not microwave cream cheese; soften at room temperature for best texture. Use an electric mixer for creamier texture. Chill cheese ball for at least 2 hours or overnight for best flavor and firmness. Let sit at room temperature 10 minutes before serving for easier spreading. Rolling in nuts or parsley adds texture and visual appeal. Save bacon grease for other recipes if desired.
